A Day in the Life | Errand Day

I realized yesterday that I haven’t just tossed my camera in my bag and recorded my day in a very long time.  I really miss being behind my camera, it’s just been so cold that it hasn’t been much of an option.  It’s either colder than a witch’s nipple or raining…. or both.  Yesterday it was cold, but the sun was beaming bright and it felt good against the skin.  So as I headed out the door, I grabbed my camera in hopes I’d grab a few share worthy shots.

In case you didn’t know, I got a mirrorless camera for Christmas.  I haven’t used it much, but the weather hasn’t exactly been cooperating and I typically prefer outdoor photography over indoor.  I haven’t taken this camera out as of yet but since it’s smaller than my beloved Nikon, it’s much easier to just toss in my purse, which is exactly what I did.  My first stop… Target.  Yeah, big surprise there… I’m in Target a few times a week lol

I love their new display areas, which I started seeing I believe back before the holiday season.  These shots were taken in the “Hearth & Hand with Magnolia” area.  I don’t think these flowers were sold with this vase, but I loved how someone placed them there nonetheless.  It caught my attention, so of course I had to share.

Next up was Lowe’s.  You guessed it… we’re about to move.  We got orders, but since the Posts aren’t that far apart the Army isn’t moving us, we are.  I guess he could commute, but I’m ready for a change, even if it means I have to pack myself up this time lol.  I hate moving, all of you know that, so me being excited about a move has to tell you something.

I make goodie bags for my guys for Valentine’s Day.  Do it every year.  Valentine’s is just a made up holiday anyway, so there isn’t any need to go all out.  That and I really wanted some tulips, so Trader Joe’s was my next stop.  I’m a pretty nontraditional gal.  So you won’t see photos of roses for Valentines, I was much more interested in the hydrangea, mums, and sunflowers lol.  The tulips were my Valentine’s gift to myself. I can’t wait until they open.  I love tulips.

Not far from my house is a cemetery (Meadowridge Memorial Park).  Yeah, I know… depressing, but actually it isn’t.  This is where I have been teaching my scared nearly 20-year-old son to drive.  It’s pretty quiet and there is lots of road for him to practice on.  This is also where we Pokemon hunt.  There are between 16 – 20 PokeStops and at least 6 gyms there that I can think of right off the top of my head.  So we are probably here at least once a day.  Sad but true.

This is also home to loads of wild life.  I’ve noticed turtles in this little pond in the last few days, but you can’t see them from this angle, nor was I looking for them.  The geese are the most well known residents here… well except for the obvious of course.  When you’re out here at night you see deer and foxes.  It’s peaceful here, as you’d expect it to be.  I’ll miss this place once we’ve moved.  I’ll have to find another Pokemon hot spot in our new town.  Anyway…

I took a lot of photos here, mostly of the statues, but you’ll have to come back another day to see those.  This was my last stop before heading home.  I needed to run back out but I wanted to go home and warm up for a bit first.

Before I left I noticed this balloon on the ground.  The wind had dislodged it from one of the graves and there it laid, alone on the side of the road.  I didn’t want to take an obvious shot of a “Happy Valentine’s Day” balloon, so instead I focused on the dead weeds that once grew overhead.  Whatever your plans today, whether you celebrate Valentine’s or not… I hope you have a wonderful day.

Go take a shot, post it, and then share the link with me below.  I’d like to see what you’re up to today.
