Macro Moments: Week 3 | A Bee and Blue Glitter

Musin’ with Susan is hosting a Macro Moments Challenge… how am I only now just hearing about this?  For this challenge I see we are supposed to include info about the camera/lens/settings used to take the photo, so here it is:

Nikon D7100, I typically use a AF-S DX Nikkor 18 – 300mm lens on photos like this, and my settings were ISO 400, 300mm, f/5.6, 1/1000.

I took this photo last week.  The plant is ‘Blue Glitter’ Sea Holly.  As I was standing there trying to get the perfect angle on this shot a honey bee decided to pay a visit.  My only regret is that I couldn’t get a tighter photo of him.  I’m still very happy with this shot, all in all.  Someone should really tell the bees to sit still and pose for the paparazzi lol.  Because I have the hardest time getting truly focused shots of them.  The flower looks great though, don’t ya think?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my submission for this macro challenge.  Have a great day!
