CB&W | Bromeliad

This weeks Cee’s Black & White photo challenge word for the week is Flowers.  This flower is in the bromeliad family, but I don’t know the exact name for it.  I do like how well it came out as a black and white though.


I took this photo at the end of the year at Rawlings Conservatory.  It was in a dark area of the palm room and my flash popped up when I went to take the shot.  This cause the photo to become over-exposed, which is why I never used it.  However, it came out really nice in black and white.  I’ll let you judge for yourself.  Here is the original.


Which version do you prefer, the black and white or the original?

  1. I think that both versions are great, but I prefer the monochrome image over the color image. It allows the texture of the plant to show through unencumbered by the colors, which can sometimes be distracting.
