There is this lady. Her skin has been leathered from standing in the sun. Her hair is oily, her face tends to be a bit dirty, and her clothing is worn from constant use. For more than a year now, I’ve seen her standing at the light that leads to the highway. I’ve often seen her walking from “home” to her corner and back “home” in the evening. I say “home” the way I do because she’s homeless. She apparently lives within a patch of woods not far from the corner she occupies. I often wish I could do more for her than I do. I tend to keep a little cash in my car for days when I see her. But I really wish I could offer her more than just a few bucks here or there.
Which brings me to the question of the day…
What little thing could you do today that would add the most value to someones life?
It’s Christmas Eve. As we gear up for the biggest giving day of the year, what will you do to give back? To pay your year of prosperity forward? Btw, any year that ends with a roof over your head, food in your fridge, and you standing on your own two feet has been a prosperous one. It’s not the time to dwell on the negative, but the positive. It’s time to be grateful for what you have, rather than wallow in self-pity for what you don’t have. You have your life, your health, and safety. That’s more than a lot of people can say.
As always, leave your answer in the comments below. Feel free to reblog or post the question on your own blog, but at least send me a ping back (by adding the URL of my blog post to your own post).
Merry Christmas everyone. I hope your day is wonderful, filled with family, friends, or whatever else brings you joy during this holiday season.
BFN!
Merry Christmas and a fabulously “easy” year of study in the new year! 🙂
