Recently the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage is legal nationwide and not just in the 36 states (and the District of Columbia) which had approved it earlier. So here is the question…
How do you feel about this decision? If you are straight, how do you feel this ruling affects your life?
Honestly, I could care less. It doesn’t affect my life one way or the other. HOWEVER, I am happy that they are getting closer to equality in the eyes of the law. Now if only they could be treated as equals in every other aspect of their lives and not judged for how they choose to live it. I couldn’t imagine trying to live my life here on Earth, being denied the same rights as everyone else. After all, what is the point of living if you can’t be you and do the things that make you happy?
I have heard many arguments about how gay marriage will ruin the sanctity of marriage, blah blah blah. However, considering in the U.S. alone the divorce rate is between 40% & 50%… I think that ship has sailed. I don’t consider myself Christian by a long shot, so take what I am about to say anyway you want. Focus on your own life, and stop judging people for the way they choose to live theirs. It’s God’s job to judge us on our sins, it’s not our job to say what he feels is right or wrong. Have an opinion, voice your opinion, but stop brow beating anyone that will listen with it. You may feel your opinion is superior to everyone elses, but that doesn’t mean it is.
As always, post your response in the comments section and I’ll be sure to reply. Lets get this conversation started shall we?
