When was the last time someone told you they were proud of you?
The decision to go back to school wasn’t an easy one for me. I HATED school when I was a kid. I liked to learn, but I hated the school environment. I hated reading pages and pages of bullshit that didn’t matter. (turns out I still hate it) My MIL was my biggest advocate for me going back to school. I mean my husband wanted me to go back to school too, but it didn’t mean quite as much when he said it lol. My MIL is the one that padded the ego so that I would consider it lol. “Sunshine, you’re so smart” blah blah blah. You know what I mean. Anyway…
January 11th was my last day of my Associates degree. I waited a week or so and then I called my MIL. She asked me how school was going. I told her it was over. Finally! She said “congratulations, I’m so proud of you!” That meant a lot to me. I don’t know why exactly, but it did. She asked me about my grades, I told her all A’s. She said that she is proud of me for doing it. That school is hard and I stuck it out and she’s proud of me.
So when was the last time someone told me they were proud of me? A couple of weeks ago when I spoke to my Mother in Law, she told me she was proud of me and it meant the world to me.
