One of These Things is Not Like the Other

Bacon and chocolate, caramel and cheddar… Is there an unorthodox food pairing you really enjoy? Share with us the weirdest combo you’re willing to admit that you like — and how you discovered it.

peanut-butter-and-banana-toastIf you were to ask my husband, he would think the most unorthodox food pairing of mines would be peanut butter and bananas.  Now that I can eat peanut butter, I realize just how much I like to eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches.  But in the overall I do not think it is that odd.  I am sure I am not the only person to eat it that way.  My husband is just thoroughly grossed out by the combination lolsnack

I think maybe my most unorthodox food paring is Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream and pretzels.

When I was pregnant with my son I really liked ice cream and potato chips.  I loved the sweet and salt together.  Towards the end, it morphed into Chunky Monkey & Pretzel sticks.  If you do not know, Chunky Monkey is banana ice cream with walnut and fudge chunks.  The pretzels add some salt to the mix and it makes it that much more flavorful.  Lots of texture.  I love it!

  1. Mmm, this is a most delicious combination of which I am also a fan! Recently some friends and I were in Lake Tahoe, making communal meals in the house we were sharing. Every night we’d scoop some fudge ribbon ice cream into a bowl, sprinkle it with pretzels, and devour.

    1. Sweet and salt together… delicious. I’ve never had fudge ribbon though. I thought I was the only one that liked pretzels & ice cream. Guess it wasn’t as different as I thought lol. Thanks for you comment!

It's your turn to say something... What do you think?
