Happy Holidays

Okay, so I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted.  I was supposed to post a blog on Christmas but honestly I barely even get online anymore.

Christmas went well around the old home front… everyone got exactly what they asked for, (and some things they didn’t even think about asking for).  As some of you well know, I got the camera I asked for… yeh me 🙂  Problem with that is, William forgot to buy me a memory card so I haven’t used it yet.  I ordered a memory card off of Amazon yesterday, made me think about Jan and her gift certificates… I wish I had one then lol.  It wasn’t a bad price though, I spent about 1/3 what the retail price was on it so I’m still happy nonetheless.

William got Sirius for his car… he is ECSTATIC.  He whines every time he gets into my car because I have satellite radio and he doesn’t.  Well I was listening, I just wasn’t aware I was listening.  And he wasn’t expecting it either which was awesome.  It’s all hooked up and in his car as we speak.  He can listen to Jazz & NPR news til the cows come home.

This year was the first year Andre didn’t put xBox on his Christmas list.  I guess he’d finally given up on asking for it.  Which worked out fine for me, because that was his big gift this year.  He practically passed out when he started ripping the paper off to see the xBox symbol underneath.  It was priceless.

I’d like to say Christmas is more than just about giving and receiving gifts but, honestly, that’s all it has become about over the years.  I tend to leave the religious aspect out of it since I don’t believe Jesus was born at “Christmas” anyway.  I did my donation to the food bank, I did a donation to the good will, and I stuck a couple of dollars in every salvation army bucket I saw.  This year I noticed that they had signs above the pots to let you know where your donation was going.  I like that.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, surrounded by family and friends.  I wish I could have spent my Christmas with my family this year, I would have traded all my gifts for a week with them.  Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I’m sure I’ll be back in time for the New Year, but just in case I’m not.  Happy New Year everyone!

  1. Ahem! First off, LOVE the tree. It looks very festive in your house.
Second…. http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/jansweeps if you aren’t already on Swagbucks please use that link to sign up! I’ve been getting a $5. Amazon gift certificate every 5 or 6 days. Who can’t use Amazon gift certificates? When you order them the take about 2 weeks before they process but if you’re constantly doing swagbucks it doesn’t matter much. I’m saving for a pressure cooker canner (more than halfway there!), then a bread machine, followed by two yogurt machines.
Wish I could have seen the look on Andre’s face when he opened that box. He’s a lucky boy to get an xbox!
Here’s to wishing you a trip to New York soon!

  2. Sounds like a great Christmas! And I agree with you! I’d have traded what I got for a week with my family, especially my parents!!!! I hope you have a great New Year, too!! Hugs!

It's your turn to say something... What do you think?
