You know, I forgot to blog yesterday. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t blogged til I’d finally laid down to go to sleep. You would have thought 4 weeks of this would be enough to jog my memory but I guess not. Anyway…
This morning I woke up knowing last night was the first night of the full moon. I also realized when I got up that I didn’t wake up at my normal 3am to go take your photo of the mountain. I doubt you missed much though lol. The moon was still quite beautiful this morning, see.
I made the photo a little darker so you could see the details… makes this photo look like it’s in a perfect Carolina Blue sky…
Every morning Andre and I leave for school at about 7:24. Almost every morning you can see the hot air ballooners out. I never remember my camera. They are usually pretty close when we head out… close enough where I can see the details on the balloon with the naked eye. I really have got to start taking a camera with me that isn’t iphone lol. So when I came back this morning I managed to snag the moon photo above and then turned in the opposite direction to catch the balloon before it floated out of sight.
I don’t know where they are coming from, I assume they are taking off from the airport or some where close by. There is open area everywhere so they could be taking off from anywhere. Some mornings when you go out there may be 3 or more of them, I don’t know where they come from or where they are going, but I’m always amazed by them. I guess hot air balloons are almost amazing to me as airplanes. Because I find myself watching them, if I’m sitting at the light, that is lol. I’m easily amused lol
Another set of photos I’d like to snag for you are the photos of the jets when they take off in the morning. Problem is I’m always unprepared for it because a) They take off reallllllly fast and b) I never know when to expect it. But it’s totally awesome. That may have to be a video rather than a photo. What you don’t know is I live between 2 Air Force bases and by an Airport, so there is always some kind of plane activity close by. I’m sitting here right now listening to what sounds like a single engine flying overhead. I love being this close to the air strips. Except for when it’s cloudy and they are flying low, then it sounds like they’ll shake the house apart lol. Especially the “buses” at least that is what I call them, I keep forgetting to ask William what the exact name for them is. I say buses because they are huge and move kinda slow when they first take off. If you’re in the car driving when they take off it looks like they aren’t moving at all, like they are suspended in mid-air.
A little known fact about me is that I was supposed to go into the Air Force. Even as a teenager I was thrilled to pieces about planes. Enough so that I wanted to go into the military to tinker with them. I didn’t want to fly them, I didn’t want to ride in them, still don’t, I wanted to fix them. And I think I would have been great at it. I always loved taking things apart and putting them back together again. But circumstances beyond my control stopped that from happening. Thanks Uncle Gene. I guess it all worked out for the best. Because had I done what I wanted I would never have met William, which might be a good thing except for one fact. I wouldn’t have my Andre. And I love my Monkey, so I guess I really do owe my Uncle a thank you.
Okay, that’s it for now. William has 24 hour duty, that he only just learned about yesterday evening, so I guess I should scoot around and find myself something to do. I kinda hate when the house is clean, there is nothing to do, and I feel guilty about that. Off I go, I hope everyone has a wonderful day. BFN!
