Day 26 – Paint Mines

Good morning, rather afternoon.  As promised here I am with the last of the Paint Mine photos.  There are quite a few, so I’ll just get to it.  What will you do when I’m done with this series?  LOL

I took this photo because I almost stepped on this sneaky little cactus.

I’ve no clue what these are, but I thought they were so pretty that I couldn’t resist taking the photo.

I’m almost to the top of the trail at this point.

You see where the trail kinda goes off behind that hill over on the top, left hand side of this picture, well my truck is over there behind that hill around the corner lol.  And the trail wraps around the top of this hill (that I’m standing on) before it goes around where you can see it in this photo…. it was a long walk back.

I’m Queen of the world!!!  Okay, not really, but I am all the way at the tippy top of the Paint Mines looking down on it.  How awesome is that.

Nothing to see but wildflowers and cactus on the way down.

This is the official end of the Paint Mine Series.  Hmmm, what is next?  Not sure.  But I think I’ll take a little break from the series’ for now.  I do have some Garden of the God photos to share with you from last weekend and I’m planning a little hiking adventure to Red Rock Canyon this weekend, at least I think that’s the name of it.  And just in case you’re wondering, no I don’t like hiking lol…. but I am trying to strengthen my knee for a trip to Seven Falls this winter.  I have a lot of stairs to climb (224) if I hope to get any decent photos.  BFN!

  1. You might not like hiking but I sure do like it when you take your camera with you. I bet your knee likes it too. I saw too many people in the nursing home who were wise enough to share the same simple advice, “use it or loose it and end up in a wheelchair like me.” As hard as it is to do exercise when you don’t like it, it’s harder to move yourself around in a chair 24/7. I still hate exercise but I’m trying to move myself more these days. If you need someone to be accountable for exercising holler, I’m only a text away.

    1. I really don’t mind hiking too much, except on really uneven terrain. My knee hurts so bad after a hike like that. But it’s worth it. At least I think it is.

It's your turn to say something... What do you think?
