Lucy and Zoie

Monday I got a call from a friend. She needed me to pick up her dog because, her husbands Grandmother was in the hospital and she was with her. So I did. I had no problem taking care of her dog. Well at least not until he got here. I’m not a neat freak… well not a big one anyway. But I do like things a certain way, I’m a control freak…. not that that is better. There are rules in my house, and everyone follows them, including Zoie & Lucy (who is now getting the hang of things, she even figured out what the counting means and just like Zoie, and sometimes Andre, she scatters). Then here comes the new guy. Before I could unload the truck, less than 2 minutes, he had POOPED ON MY OFFICE CARPET. I was LIVID. I had just let him out at his own place, so why did he decide to hold it til he got here? I evicted his ass as well as Zoie’s (Guilty by association). Pooper scooped, cleaned that carpet, sprayed enough febreze to take out a ferret and after about 30 or 40 minutes let them back in. Wanna know what he did when he came back in. POOPED ON MY FAMILY ROOM FLOOR!!! Again, LIVID. At least it was tile. I cleaned it up, mopped the floor, fussed fussed fussed fussed and fussed some more. He got the point I believe because he went and laid on Zoie’s bed and didn’t move again for a while. He isn’t completely sure about the 5,4,3,2,1 countdown, but after seeing Zoie scrambling away to her bed, he started to get the point. I wasn’t counting for Zoie I was counting for him out of habit, KNOWING that he had no clue what I was doing. Zoie doesn’t care who the count is for she is getting the hell out of the way lol. My friend told me that I should let her dog sleep in Andre’s room, I don’t think so. I don’t even let Zoie sleep in there because of his allergies. By the end of the night I had her dog on Zoie’s potty schedule and he did fine fenced in the family room through the night. I am supposed to keep him again at the end of the month so she can go to a family reunion, I am NOT looking forward to it if he comes loaded for bear again. I love dogs, but I gotta admit, Zoie may be the last dog for this family. I’m just getting too old and impatient for that crap.. literally. She was so easy to house break, she’s always been such a smart dog… where my friends dog, and no offense if you are reading this, he is as sweet as he can be, but he is as dumb as a box of rocks. I couldn’t have been more happy to see her husband show up to take him away. (It was like a Calgon commercial when I closed that door behind him let me tell you) Enough about him….

I got some really good photos of Lucy and Zoie Monday morning. Poor Zoie, She only sat still as long as she did because I was bribing her with cookies lol. “Sit, stay… I’ll give you cookies”. However the second Lucy started purring, Zoie had had enough.. she bolted. I still gave her the cookies, she more than earned them.
I call this one… please don’t hurt me.

Lucy just wanted some love and attention, but Zoie wanted no part of it.

Can’t you almost just smell the fear. I’m hoping that this is a step in the right direction, because this is the first time I was able to get her to sit still for this long. Normally Lucy comes around and she’s like Okay, I’m outta here! lol.

Yesterday morning I got an email from my friend Brenda. I met her 11 years ago on AOL. We met once about 8 years ago at an AOL chat party in Georgia. She’s good people. Anyway, she emailed me yesterday to let me know that she was coming back East for a funeral and wanted to come by for a visit. She is from California. I was ecsatic to say the least. I had spoken with her last week and she said that she was coming to NC, but wasn’t sure if she’d have time for a visit. Well I guess she is making time for a visit… I can’t wait. I haven’t seen her in so very long. The last time she came to NC was for a funeral and she never had time to get away. If she can’t get down here, I’ll make the drive to Raleigh, it’s only about an hour and a half away. Well worth it.

Ok, I’ve typed enough, I got work to do. I need to go re-mop that family room floor, it just doesn’t feel clean to me. Ya’ll have a great day!
